Parent Letter - 12/20/24
Dear Warrior Nation,
“And Hilkiah the high priest said to Shaphan the secretary, ‘I have found the Book of the Law in the house of the Lord’…Then Shaphan read from it in the presence of the king. When the king heard the words of the Book of the Law, he tore his robes.” – 2 Kings 22:8,11. For almost 60 years, Judah had walked in wickedness, led by King Manassas and King Amon. Then, eighteen years into King Josiah’s reign, the Book of the Law of Moses was found. When it was read to the king, he tore his robes as a sign of repentance and mourning. Something amazing happens when our hearts are awakened to our sins, and we turn to God in repentance. The light of God’s purity and truth shines so brightly that our souls are compelled to move toward Him. In Josiah’s day, he undertook a nationwide spring cleaning – He removed all evidence of foreign gods from the temple, destroyed altars to other gods, and removed all pagan shrines in the high places. He got rid of all mediums and spiritists as well as foreign idols. Even though Judah still faced judgment for their past sins, the heart of one man turning back to God caused the nation to return to the Passover celebration. In verse 25, we read the crowning statement from Josiah’s life: “Neither before nor after Josiah was there a king like him who turned to the Lord as he did – with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his strength, in accordance with all the Law of Moses.” What is the state of our heart? Could it be said of us as it was King Josiah? If our desire is to seek the Lord with all our heart, soul, and strength and be open to His leadership, we will transform our family, school, and community. And, who knows, perhaps even see the last Big Prayer come to pass – revival!
I want to thank everyone who helped make the Christmas Market a huge success!! From those who donated to those who set up and ran the market to those who volunteered to wrap gifts, it was truly a blessing to see this done with such excellence. The students could not wait to get in and shop and their excitement was definitely felt throughout the building!
Please mark your calendars for homecoming events happening the first full week of January (when we return to school). The week will have several student events, culminating in a school-wide pep rally on Friday. The showcase of the week will be a full slate of activities on Saturday, 11 January. Please see the email from Mr. Hauser with details.
May the Lord bless you and your family in abundance during this holiday season. I pray travel mercies for those on the road, strength, and comfort to those with challenges, and a renewed presence of the Holy Spirit in each of you as we pause and celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Thank you for the opportunity to minister to your students – we are truly blessed to partner with you in Educating Hearts and Minds For Christ!
All 4 Him!
