Philosophy
Webster defines philosophy as “systematized knowledge of the good, the true, and the beautiful.” What better description of our Creator—and of what we desire for our athletes at Richmond Christian? Our primary purpose is to shape athletes who think and act like Jesus Christ. In simple terms, our philosophy is captured in one phrase: “Conformed to His Image” (Romans 8:29).
This guiding principle helps answer challenges throughout the year by asking a single question: “Is what I am doing helping me become more like Him?” We strive to give a total release of our mental, physical, and emotional energy in all we do, performing as Christ would, remembering that He is our ultimate audience. “All for Him” (Colossians 3:17).
Does glorifying God mean we don’t want to win? Not at all. We train hard and compete with the goal of victory. But we do so with integrity and the right attitude, understanding that true competition—done the right way—is also part of living “All for Him.”
