ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) leads Christian schools toward greater effectiveness through services and programs provided throughout 18 national and international regional offices. Their mission is to enable Christian educators and schools worldwide to effectively prepare students for life.
AdvancED is the accrediting arm of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). This organization oversees the quality of schools throughout the southern United States, from public universities to local school districts and private schools like RCS. Being accredited by SACS, in addition to ACSI, is a sign that Richmond Christian School is meeting the standards set by both Christian and non-religious educational experts. It is yet one more piece to provide confidence in the education a child receives at RCS.
These two accrediting bodies provide a variety of resources and programs to our school. Some of the services and programs include:
- Conventions and conferences
- One day enablers
- Teacher certification
- School accreditation
- Student activities
- Legal and legislative assistance
- Professional growth
- Student assessments
Richmond Christian School was dual-accredited with ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) and Advanced Ed in the Spring of 2016. This accreditation lasts until June 30, 2021 and is good for a period of five years. The school will go through the reaccreditation process again in Spring, 2021. Accreditation means that the school adheres to national standards and procedures. RCS files an annual report on the maintaining of accreditation standards, as well as our responses to recommendations from the visiting team to our overall school program. These accreditations are both approved by the VCPE (Virginia Council for Private Education) who has oversight for the accreditation of all private schools within the Commonwealth.
