ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) leads Christian schools toward greater effectiveness through services and programs provided throughout 18 national and international regional offices. Their mission is to enable Christian educators and schools worldwide to effectively prepare students for life.
AdvancED is the accrediting arm of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). This organization oversees the quality of schools throughout the southern United States, from public universities to local school districts and private schools like RCS. Being accredited by SACS, in addition to ACSI, is a sign that Richmond Christian School is meeting the standards set by both Christian and non-religious educational experts. It is yet one more piece to provide confidence in the education a child receives at RCS.
These two accrediting bodies provide a variety of resources and programs to our school. Some of the services and programs include:
- Conventions and conferences
- One day enablers
- Teacher certification
- School accreditation
- Student activities
- Legal and legislative assistance
- Professional growth
- Student assessments
Richmond Christian Schools is accredited through June 2016. During the 2010-2011 school year, the faculty and staff went through the re-accreditation process, during which they revised their curriculum guides, revisited the Continuous School Improvement Plan, and many other documents. The Visiting Team evaluated if the school is growing and measuring up to non-negotiable national standards. The school was notified as to their re-accreditation in the fall of 2011 by the ACSI Commission Board. The school chooses to participate in this audit every 5 years to continue to provide our school with input from fellow Christian educators and continuous assessment of the total school program by our faculty and staff as well as objective visitors.
