Parents!

Can you believe that this is the last week of school? Thank you so much for letting me teach your child this year. I couldn't have asked for a better group. I still love 2nd grade !!!!! Thank you so much for your support and prayer. I have mixed emotions about the year ending. I'm glad the group is ready to move on but I'm not sure I'm ready for it. I will never forget this first year of teaching 2nd grade. I would like to say thank you to Miss Cosby who has been a tremendous help to me. I would also like to say thanks to Darline and Rosemary for their help with parties and such. I want to also recognize Joan who came each Tuesday and took Lunch and playground duty for me. God bless each of you and have a great summer!

1. End of the Year Party- Our end of the year party will be at Chuck E Cheese on Wednesday, June 4th at 10:00. This does count as a day of school. We will leave the school at 9:30. Parents should meet us there at 10:00. Please send in permission and money. Try to come for a fun time!!!

2. Awards Day-  Please join us for recognition of those receiving awards. This will be at 10:30 on June 6th. Dismissal immediately following.

3. Last week of school- These are full days except for Friday.

4. Summer Birthday Party-  This will be on Thursday, June 5th. Our room mother will be contacting parents of those with summer birthdays to help. This will also be "Boardgame day".<

   HOMEWORK  

1. Please continue having your child read for 15 minutes each night. Also, if your child is having problems with comprehension, it would help to ask questions at home after they read.

2. NO SPELLING THIS WEEK!!!!

3. Please go over addition and subtraction flashcards each night for 15 minutes.

   NO Spelling Words!!!!!

Parents! How can you help your students this summer?

1. Purchase the Summer booklet from the information sent home last week. These books have activities that will help your child stay on top of things academically.

2. Continue to go over addition and subtraction math facts periodically especially if your child has not mastered these. They should be able to do these quickly.

3. READ, READ, READ. Please set up a scheduled reading time for your child.

4. HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!

1. Summer Basketball Camp-  This is for rising 3rd graders-12th grade. For more info. contact the school office

2. Kidz Camp- Two weeks of exciting activities. These weeks are July 14-18 and July 21-25.

3. Sizzlin Summer Camp- Dates are July 25-August 15.
