Richmond Christian School is accredited by the Association of Christian School International (ACSI), and has been a member of ACSI since 1987. RCS is fully recognized by the Virginia State Department of Education.
The focus of education at RCS is that each student receive the best academic preparation possible to pursue his or her life goals successfully. Our joint purpose is that the academic achievements of our students be always within the context of Christian thought and practice. Our objective is to guide each student's academic development in a way that will equip one to think independently and yet arrive at conclusions that are consistent with the Bible.
We reject the idea that having serious scholarship and honest thinking need be achieved apart from a basic understanding of the Bible. It is our desire to help students understand how Jesus Christ came into human history and revealed God the Father to us, to guide them in the development of communication skills so that they may effectively share with others about the Creator, and to equip them with academic skills enabling a greater appreciation for the wonders of the universe.
Academic excellence is expected of each student on the assumption held by faculty and staff that each student can learn, can achieve, and can be successful in the school experience. However, excellence is understood by the faculty and staff as doing one's best, realizing that each student's level of accomplishment will vary according to his or her God given talents.(Matthew 25:15-28). Students at Richmond Christian School learn that working hard to reach a worthy goal gives dignity to life and glory to God. Indeed one's life work that is accomplished according to God's will is a praise to Him (Psalm 139:14, Proverbs 10:4)
